National Grid is hiring a Apprenticeship Quality Specialist on a permanent basis. We offer a hybrid working model - base locations for this role can be Warwick or Eakring.
Job Purpose
Are you looking for a unique and exciting opportunity to help shape the future of National Grid’s Apprenticeship Programmes? We are looking for a motivated individual with an expertise in Apprenticeships and a passion for quality assurance, who can help us develop new programmes, processes and systems to enable us to deliver high quality and compliant development programmes.
The role will sit within the Development Programmes team, reporting to the Funding & Compliance Manager.
We are looking for an Apprentice Learning and Development Specialist, who will be responsible for leading on learning design across all of our programmes.
This role will work collaboratively with the wider Technical Training team and our leaders within the business to ensure that our apprenticeship strategy is realised, with a focus on quality of learning, DEI and business critical capabilities.
What you'll do
- Be responsible for the design of our Apprenticeship programmes in order that that they meet organisational and apprenticeship requirements.
- Ensure programmes are sequenced effectively to embed learning.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to build core assessment processes for new and existing programmes.
- Lead on projects to design and develop new apprenticeship standards, training or qualifications.
- Support the team with the delivery of Apprentice Events such as induction, welcome days and graduations.
- Own and maintain programme manuals and overarching policies and strategies relating to the apprenticeships.
- Where requested support and prepare the provision for external audits, such as Ofsted inspections and ESFA audits.
- Maintain your own knowledge and understanding of changes to the apprenticeship environment such as ESFA funding rules or Ofsted framework changes and share with the wider team.
- Be accountable for the provisions observation process.
- Support the development and delivery of our QIP and SAR.
- Oversee our CPD strategy.
- Manage our quality cycle and assure activities are taking place by conducting sampling activities across the provision.
- Attend and contribute to standardisation meetings.

- Be self-motivated and resilient, with excellent organisational skills with proven ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment.
- Hold a strong background in quality assurance practices and processes.
- Have the ability to work as part of a team and to take a flexible, professional approach.
- Preferably will have experience of working directly with students or young people.
- Has a thorough understanding of the Ofsted EIF.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £45,000 £55,000 – dependent on capability
