An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Senior Assurance Specialists to join our team on a permanent basis!

This role will embed you within the National Grid’s Electricity Transmission (NGET) business to support the delivery units in achieving their strategic objectives by providing high quality assurance to the NGET leadership team.

As a senior member of the Assurance Team the NGET Executive will look to you to support the development of our control framework and mature understanding of the importance and effective design and operation of controls to support our ambitious plans to transform the energy network. You will deliver assurance against a range of risk areas across the NGET business making this an exciting opportunity where no two days will be the same.

What you'll be getting up to

  • As a senior assurance specialist you will be involved in more complex assurance work on a wide variety of risk topics.
  • You will be responsible for the end to end delivery of assigned assurance review topics (planning, testing and reporting).
  • Where appropriate, you will be supported by the relevant subject matter experts from across the business to complete reviews.
  • You will collaborate closely with the NGET risk team and business to understand existing control frameworks and processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from all functions and DVs within NGET to ensure the successful development and testing of controls and provision of assurance.
  • Provide first-line support to teams across NGET in controls development including developing and delivering training and coaching.

About you

  • Strong knowledge of risk and control frameworks and processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong communication skills, including formal report writing, presentation skills and interacting with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Experience in planning, undertaking and reporting on assurance / audit activities
