Group Innovation Portfolio Manager

Working across the Strategy, Innovation and Market Analytics (SIMA) function and National Grid Partners, you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering our group-wide innovation strategy. As a core member of the Innovation and Venture Acceleration (IVA) Team, you will empower a high‑impact, strategically aligned innovation portfolio that accelerates breakthrough ideas, unlocks new value, and supports the transition to a more sustainable, resilient energy system.

What's in it for you?

A competitive salary between £67,000 - £84,000 per annum– dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

What you'll be getting up to

· Lead IVA innovation governance and develop/maintain IVA operating models to ensure effective oversight and delivery.

· Manage the Innovation Labs innovation portfolio, enabling strategic alignment and value creation across business units.

· Develop and implement innovation metrics, reporting frameworks, and actionable insights to measure impact and inform decision-making of National Grids UK and US Innovation Portfolio.

· Drive the development, analysis, and continuous improvement of innovation reporting.

· Respond to ad-hoc support requests from the business, providing expert guidance and facilitating innovation delivery.

· Develop technology roadmaps and apply strategic foresight to anticipate future trends and opportunities.
