Job Purpose
Join Us as a EPC Project Manager and lead the charge in transforming South Wales/South Central energy infrastructure! You will take ownership of a dynamic portfolio of projects, driving them from sanction through to successful delivery and close out on time, within budget and to exacting standards. Your expertise will ensure every project not only meets but exceeds health, safety and environmental expectations, while fulfilling our vital regulatory, stakeholder and customer commitments. What You'll Do
- Lead the investment process during delivery and closure for several projects of varying complexity.
- Drive customer and stakeholder satisfaction through positive customer engagement and work pro-actively to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Sanction and deliver the least cost, optimal, efficient and safe solution in line with CDM Regulations and SHESQ considerations.
- Support development team in defining project scope, programme and contract strategy.
- Produce all required project documentation, ensuring governance is maintained throughout the investment process whilst also demonstrating the implementation of lessons learned and best practice.
- Implement, and manage project delivery, design, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure and post-completion requirements.
- Support the consenting, type registration, cost estimation, programme risk mitigation, and innovation activities to enable the delivery vehicle to implement the solution on site.
- Assess the need for Early Contractor Involvement support and where required, appoint and lead the ECI contractor in their activities. Monitor and control the ECI budget and resolve any contractual issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor and control the investment throughout the process providing regular project monthly status reports (including SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management) and accurate and timely financial forecasting information to support regulatory reporting, and business and capital planning.
- Support the tendering process of projects entering delivery, to provide expertise following the production of competent NEC Site and Works Information.
- Enact the role of Client's Delegated Representative and where appropriate, Principal Designer or arrange for the provision of Principal Designer for each project as required under CDM Regulations.
- Manage and co-ordinate Contractors and project teams to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and specification and with minimal disruption.
- Enact the role of Commissioning Panel Chair as and when required or arrange for the provision of this should it be required.
- Monitor Contractor site activities to ensure compliance with National Grid SHES standards, Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and CDM regulations.
- Manage the Contractor commissioning and performance testing process on site. Ensure the provision of accurate ‘as built’ documentation to handover of the assets onto the system to the standards defined in the design.
About You
Interpersonal, Supervisory or Management

- Demonstrable experience of leading cross functional teams
- Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management.
- Proficient business writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience of problem solving and an appetite for continuous improvement
- Good influencing and negotiating skills
Technical or Specialist
- Good Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost,quality, safety and security of supply
- Proficient technical knowledge of the Electricity Transmission System
- Knowledge of business processes and governance
- Understanding of RIIO mechanisms
- Working knowledge and application of CDM
- Proficient understanding and experience of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies.
- Proficient in Contract Management
Qualifications
- Educated to a degree or equivalent level
- NEC3/NEC 4 ECC Project Manager qualification
- Experience of working on electricity Infrastructure projects and programmes.
- Project Management Qualification
- With membership of RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent relevant professional institution desirable.
