About the role

Join us to lead land governance that unlocks the UK’s clean energy transition – shaping land rights policy, setting standards, and leaving a positive legacy across major construction programmes.

The Technical Land Manager plays a senior, influential role within National Grid, shaping the strategic development, implementation and governance of land‑related policies, procedures and technical standards across a major national infrastructure portfolio.

This role is critical to the successful delivery of complex construction projects, combining technical land expertise, risk management and high‑level stakeholder engagement. You'll drive the continuous improvement of land strategies that underpin National Grid’s operational and construction ambitions, working across multiple projects and disciplines.

Acting as a technical authority and strategic business partner, you'll lead the development of clear, consistent policies, guidance and best‑practice governance throughout the construction phase. You will set the standard for high‑quality engagement with landowners, statutory bodies and stakeholders, while ensuring a consistent, professional approach to land management from construction through to handover into Existing Infrastructure.

At the heart of this role is a commitment to leaving a positive legacy – protecting land rights and managing them sustainably to deliver long‑term benefits for communities, stakeholders and future generations.

This role welcomes applicants UK wide, and we offer hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to weekly travel throughout England and Wales as required.
