National Grid is hiring a Business Analyst - Warwick base location - Hybrid working.

Job Purpose

Responsible for providing functional expertise against digital capabilities in Asset Operations; in identifying and evaluating options for improving business processes & systems, defining requirements and ensuring effective use of information systems in meeting the needs of the National Grid business.

What you'll do

  • Analyse complex business and digital environments to identify innovative, appropriate and cost effective solutions.
  • Investigates work to determine business requirements and specify business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures and organization change. Conducts investigations for strategy studies, business requirements and feasibility studies.
  • Input into the development high quality product mandates, business cases, investment proposals, post investment appraisal and other deliverables as required
  • Make use of a range of consultancy techniques, methods, and processes as appropriate to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Building, maintaining and enhancing working relationships with management members of Asset Operations, IT units etc
  • Work closely with the program delivery leads to develop and deliver Digital solutions to meet the business’s requirements with specific focus on benefits realisation
  • Participation on project boards, steering and governance groups as required
  • Analyse business change resource demand and produce / manage resourcing budgets whilst ensuring there is clarity around the accountabilities, deliverables and outcomes of all delivery roles
  • Drives cultural and behavioural change in ET to work to UK BMS Standards and a consistent framework
  • Works with the AO Product Line Director and Lead Strategist to report on and provide information around the AO digital value case and implementation
  • Delivery of artefacts against large sized project such as a set of comprehensive user stories, and any associated project documentation.
  • Applies and monitors the use of required modelling and analysis tools. Methods and standards giving special consideration to business perspectives.
  • Identifies stakeholders and their business needs.

About you

  • Experience of working on business change activities as part of a major change and transformation programme, familiar with SAFe, BMS, CDF framework
  • Practical experience delivering business case writing, scoping, scheduling, planning and risk management (RAID)
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge in their area of functional expertise, both in terms of business activities/process and application capabilities.
  • Has good leadership skills and demonstrates an ability to influence business or IT colleagues.
  • Experience of undertaking roles in which analytical thinking is applied to produce business improvements within the National Grid Environment.
  • Knowledge of IT project development processes and wider organization units of IT is preferred but not mandatory.
  • An understanding of how National Grid is organized as a business, what the business functions do at a high level and how National Grid succeeds is again preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience of an asset management context particularly in Electricity Transmission would be useful, for example, implementing enterprise asset management capabilities

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £45,000 – £55,000 – dependent on capability.
