About the role

Join us and help deliver one of the UK’s largest electricity network transformations.

As the UK’s energy mix continues to shift towards renewable generation – much of it located offshore – and electricity demand increases, significant investment is required to expand and modernise the transmission network.

Sea Link is a proposed electricity transmission network reinforcement between Kent and Suffolk, delivered via a new, primarily offshore 2‑gigawatt (GW) High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link. Kent and Suffolk are both regions where more electricity is expected to enter the network than the existing infrastructure can currently transport. Sea Link forms a critical part of the solution, increasing network capacity and supporting the largest transformation of the electricity system in generations.

As a Lead Interface Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the Sea Link project, ensuring seamless coordination and information flow across multiple project teams, contractors and stakeholders. Acting as the central point for managing interfaces, you’ll oversee dependencies, resolve issues and track key deliverables to minimise risk, avoid delays and control costs. You’ll proactively identify gaps in scope, manage risks at project boundaries and ensure that health, safety and environmental standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.

This role offers hybrid working, combining home, office and site‑based working. You’ll be flexible to travel to sites in Kent, Suffolk or London a minimum of three days per week and will need a full UK driving licence.

Key accountabilities

  • Own and manage all project interfaces, ensuring clear accountability and seamless integration, while preventing scope gaps or overlaps.
  • Lead coordination and information flow between internal teams, contractors, partners and National Grid stakeholders.
  • Identify, manage and resolve interface risks, dependencies and conflicts to protect programme, cost and safety outcomes.
  • Deliver safe, compliant and cost‑effective projects in line with CDM Regulations, SHESQ standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end project delivery from design and contractor engagement through construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Manage contractor performance, budgets and reporting while maintaining strong stakeholder, land and third‑party relationships.

About you

  • Experienced Project Manager with responsibility for safety, cost, programme, risk and governance.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of the Electricity Transmission System.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering major infrastructure projects and programmes.
  • Confident operating within regulated environments and established governance frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM, health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Robust contract management capability across the project lifecycle.
  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Customer‑focused, committed to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
  • Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent) desirable.

What you'll get

  • A competitive salary between £61,000 - £75,000 – dependent on capability.
  • Established market supplement of £4,500 per annum (paid monthly).
  • Job requirement company car.
  • An annual performance bonus.
  • 26 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
  • The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.
  • Generous contributory pension scheme - we will double-match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
  • Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions, course fees, books, exam fees and time off for study leave - so long as it's relevant to your role.
  • Access to flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
  • Family care benefits including a back-up care service for when your usual care arrangements fall through (six paid days each year as standard with the option to purchase further days).
  • Access to apps that support health, fitness and wellbeing.
