Join our Protection & Controls Capital Delivery team and play a central role in shaping the future of the UK’s Electricity Transmission network. In this role, you’ll lead contracts with our framework contractors and help deliver a diverse portfolio of projects worth up to £400m—keeping the network dependable today while enabling the energy system of tomorrow. You’ll collaborate across engineering disciplines and support teams, expand your expertise, raise your profile, and accelerate your career in a business driving one of the country’s most important transformations. Flexible on base location with hybrid working.
We’re looking for a driven and experienced NEC Project Manager to join our growing team and take the lead on complex, high-impact projects across our portfolio. With strong expertise in NEC3/NEC4 contract administration, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach to risk and programme management, you’ll play a vital role in delivering major infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. Just as importantly, you’ll build trusted, collaborative relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders to keep projects moving forward and deliver lasting value.
You’ll bring strong technical knowledge, confident contract management skills, and proven project leadership. You’ll be comfortable working across multiple teams, combining sharp attention to detail with strategic thinking, and leading projects from contract award through to successful completion.
Must have:
- Minimum HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Project Management qualification.
- NEC Contract Knowledge – Proven experience managing NEC3/NEC4 contracts across the full project lifecycle, including instructions, compensation events, early warnings and programme acceptance.
- Commercial Acumen and Programme Management – Able to assess, negotiate and value compensation events, manage budgets, produce accurate cost reports, and maintain the Accepted Programme. Strong planning skills with the ability to manage risks, delays and commercial impacts.
- Stakeholder Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing relationships across clients, contractors, designers and supply chains, and chairing key project meetings.
- A valid UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of the electricity transmission industry, with a focus on protection, and control systems.
- NEC accredited Project Manager status.
Pay and Benefits
- £54,090 to £75,000 pa depending on experience + Bonus (up to 4% 2025).
- Contribution Pension scheme max total 18%.
- 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days, 37 hours Mon – Fri.
